Met someone? Send a Vibe.

Anonymous until mutual. The person you vibe gets a notification that someone vibed them, but not who. If they vibe you back with a matching intent, you both find out and a chat opens. A Vibe comes with no read receipts and no rejection signal.

Vibe is in the ESCAPE app. You send one from an event's attendee list.

The Vibe sheet in the ESCAPE app: three intents, each free once per event, a line on which intents match each other, and the Super Vibe, which matches any intent.

How it works

A Vibe each way, with intents that match.

  1. Send a Vibe

First, open an event's attendee list in the ESCAPE app, or a memory from the event, tap Vibe beside someone and pick your intent: Connect, Hang out or Interested.

An event's attendee list in the ESCAPE app: a Vibe button beside each person, and Vibed beside a person you already sent a Vibe to.
  2. They're told, not who

Then, they get a notification that someone vibed them, with no name, event or intent in it, and the Vibe count on their profile goes up by one. A Super Vibe's notification names the event, still without your name.

What the person you vibed sees: a screen saying someone vibed them, without saying who, their recent events to vibe back at, and the Vibe count on their profile.
  3. It's a match

Last, if they vibe you back, at that event or another one you're both on, with an intent that matches yours, you're both told who it is, you each see the other's intent, and a chat opens between you. If the intents don't match, there's no match and no names.

The match screen: you both, the event where you first met, each of your intents, and Say Hi to open the chat.

Which intents match

A match needs a Vibe each way, and the two intents have to fit.

  • Connect

Networking or professional. Matches Connect or Hang out.

  • Hang out

Friendship or social. Matches Hang out or Connect.

  • Interested

    Romantic interest. Matches only Interested.

  • Super Vibe

Matches any intent. Super Vibes are always paid, and the person you send one to is told which event it came from.

Good to know

Only people from your events
You can vibe someone only when you're both on the same event's attendee list, or one of you hosts it and the other is on it. You can vibe each person once per event, and never someone you've blocked or who has blocked you.
Free once per intent
Every event gives you one free Vibe for each intent. More Vibes, and every Super Vibe, are bought in packs in the app, at the price the App Store or Google Play shows you.
Your Vibe count is public
Your profile in the app shows anyone who opens it how many Vibes you've received. It never shows who sent them.
Hosts see totals
An event's host can see how many Vibes were sent at it, by intent, and how many became matches, never who sent them.
Vibes feed compatibility
Who you vibe, the intents you pick and your matches are also used in ESCAPE's compatibility scores.

Send a Vibe. Match. Say hi.
