- Is ESCAPE really free?
- Yes. Creating events, running communities, RSVPs, chat, AI matching, the map and all 15 languages cost nothing. Free events are free. Fees apply only when you sell tickets to a paid event, and by default the attendee pays them at checkout.
- What fees do attendees pay?
- On a paid ticket, by default, the attendee pays a 5% ESCAPE service fee plus card processing (2.9% + 30¢ in CAD and USD; other currencies have their own fixed fee, and +2.8% applies when the charge currency is not CAD). An organizer can instead choose to pay the fees, in which case attendees pay exactly the ticket price.
- How do organizers get paid?
- Organizers connect a Stripe account during event setup. Payments use Stripe Connect: the ticket money goes to the organizer’s account and payouts follow Stripe’s standard schedule.
- Can I use ESCAPE without selling tickets?
- Absolutely. You can create unlimited free events, build communities, chat with members and use every other feature at no cost. Ticketing is entirely optional.
