Why “ESCAPE”?
An ape pressing ESC.
We didn't start as ESCAPE. The original name was DayShare, a platform for sharing your daily schedule and finding people to do things with. The idea was simple: turn the hours you already have into time spent with real people.
But as the product evolved, so did the vision. We weren't just sharing schedules. We were helping people escape. Escape the loneliness of scrolling alone, escape the routine of doing the same thing every weekend, escape the surface-level connections that social media calls “friends.”
The name ESCAPE stuck. And then the logo came together: ESC + APE, an ape pressing the ESC key. It's playful, a little weird, and perfectly captures what we're about. Hit escape. Get out there. Meet someone new. The best moments in life don't happen on a screen. They happen when you show up.
